Increasing the capacity at non-bottleneck workstations
This has the effect of decreasing the raw processing rate T0, which can be achieved by:
- Process improvements
- Yield improvements
- Rework reduction
- Staffing changes
- Work-sharing, that is pass some tasks between stations
- Adding parallel capacities.

Performance increase with decrease in T0

Note:
- The benefits of the capacity increase can be realized via increased throughput, decreased cycle time, or a
combination of both.
- By Little's Law, increasing TH for constant WIP, or reducing WIP for constant TH means that cycle time will
also be reduced.
